The Male
How to Light The Male Physique (Part 1)
In this film, Mark Cleghorn shoots a fitness style of lighting, explaining to you the fundamental basics on how to sculpt the body of your subject with you light and then transforming your image from the bog standard amateur image to something spectacular that will most definitely catch the eye of whoever may view your work.
How to Light The Male Physique (Part 2)
In this series of films, Mark works with multiple lights, moving them from position to position to light the subject in specific ways and then combining all the elements together in order to achieve the ultimate image. Mark then introduces a overhead light and an extra two back lights with reflector dishes applied to bring a hard backlight shooting back at the subject in separation and an overhead illuminating the face.
How to Light The Male Physique (Part 3)
In this film, Mark Cleghorn follows up on his fitness style of shoot, continuing with the introduction of Gels. In this one Mark plans to take things one step further by adding a little creative into the shoot, setting up a single gelled light behind the subject in order to bring a brightness and vibrancy to the overall image.
Male Portraiture: One Light One Umbrella
In this film Mark Cleghorn is back in studio, shooting with the new Male Model to the Academy, Jabez. Today, this is all about the one light, one umbrella, shooting with a shoot through umbrella on a very simple white background, a white wall, white posing boxes, a model, and a white shirt. This style of shoot is ideal for the influencer style of shoot, shooting as if the model were to be on the front cover of a magazine or a double page spread in a leaflet.
Male Portraiture - The Rockstar
In this film Mark Cleghorn welcomes you to The Photographer Academy, shooting a ROCKSTAR. Today Mark seeks to capture the ultimate Rockstar style of image in an influencer esc. shoot. The background used within this video is a black and white checkered flooring bought from a local fabric shop. This is then hung on a background support stand and really gives off that dramatic, edgy look and feel. This one is shot simple with one light, an overhead parabolic umberella that illuminates the image and gives a specular light to Marks subject.
Male Headshots - Three Sided Studio
In today's film Mark shoots with a new model to the Academy, Sam. Within, Mark shoots within a three sided studio setup using Gels and reflector dishes in order to create some dynamic images. The following film is a technical film, reminiscent of our Boys to Men shoot but with a lot more lights than the usual setup. This video is here to inspire creativity with the use of gels and reflector dishes being the key to the shoot to really bring live into the images captured.
